Now is the time for real change. We can’t afford to let it go.

Claiming our Future, Leitrim is hosting an event that will give the people of Leitrim and Sligo an opportunity to have their say…..down The ‘Leitrim Way’

Claiming our Future - Leitrim Group will hold a lively debate on our doorstep with - Sligo/North Leitrim prospective TDs at 7.30pm on Tuesday 15th February in the Bee Park Community Centre in Manorhamilton.

Come and meet your political representatives!

On the platform fielding questions will be John Perry (Fine Gael), Susan O’Keefe (Labour), Michael Colreavy,  (Sinn Fein)  Eamon Scanlon, ( Fianna Fail), Veronica Cawley (Ind), Declan Bree (Ind)  and others to be announced.

Claiming our Future is a national, broad-based, non-party-political movement committed to the emergence of an equal, sustainable and thriving Ireland. It was formed in response to our economic recession, to promote change at a national and local level.  Leitrim Claiming Our Future believes that we need politicians with values that will change the way things are done.  Some things that we will be asking our politicians on a local level is

  • Are you for or against privatization of our local state assets to support the national debt?
  • Where do you stand on the deregulation of existing barriers and red tape to support the growth of sustainable local social enterprises?
  • What are you doing to reverse the increase of poverty and inequality affecting our people?  What is your stance on cuts to social welfare, changes to minimum wage and the universal social tax?
