At the Claiming our Future event in the RDS on Saturday 30th October 2010, a number of themes were identified that Claiming our Future should look at in greater detail.
- Income Inequality
- A Sustainable Model of Development/Economy for Society
- Political Reform
In 2011, Claiming our Future held a one day deliberative event devoted to two of these themes. The event on ‘Income Inequality‘ was staged in Galway on 28th May and we hosted a discussion in Cork on 5th November on ‘A Sustainable Model of Development/Economy for Society.
‘Reinventing our Democracy‘ was held on 26 May 2012 in Croke Park. On the day, two hundred members gathered to consider ways of reforming democracy at local, national, and supra-national levels. The conclusions reached will be available in the consensor’s that is due for released in the coming weeks.
On June 6th one of Claiming our Future’s close associates Cultivate will hold an event, Convergence 2012, in Cloughjordan, Tipperary. The day will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders to reframe sustainability, to explore our understanding of cultural values and to consider how we can best collaborate. The agenda for the day and information on other events that Cultivate are staging in June is available here.
