We hosted a discussion on democratic reform in Croke Park on May 26th. The event, Reinventing our Democracy, drew over two hundred people from across the country to participate in a wide-ranging debate on democracy at local, national and EU levels. Near TV came along and asked participants what one change they’d like to see in the Constitution.
On October 17th A New Pact organised a public performative journey to hand in a community arts petition to the Arts Council and the Department of Arts, Culture and Gaeltacht. This was part of a day of action that included a discussion on linking community arts, anti-poverty struggles and human rights actions in order to re-set Ireland. Claiming our Future participated in this debate. A New Pact has been inspired by Ed Carroll of Blue Drum. Video here….
